- Final score 20/16, Red/Blue, 4v5 to 3v3
- Blues copped the defensive curse once again with a 4 man ultra-rush-goalie technique that failed to hold up to Zoltan’s long bombs which are now, against an open goal, almost a 90% certainty (statistically speaking)
- I scored half as many as I had shots on goal, but only found the inside of the posts from angles of 75 degrees of more, with a certain curse of thunderboot, reminiscent of some of our retired but cherished early forefathers, when shooting straight-on at an empty goal
- Ben arrived and patched up the holes in the the blues defence but instilled such a sense of security with his defending and passionate forward runs (including vigorous returns to keeper from one end to another) that left the blues again over-confident with an empty goal presenting too-good-a-target on too many occasions
- Thomas nearly had a couple of screamer opportunities from some excellent movement, the only unfortunate side of which was the players that needed to take most heed of said movement were seemingly rugged up in their PJ’s at the first sound of thunder
- Weather contributed to a dramatic light show, almost synced to the frequency of goals that reached a climax of an 8? 10? goal difference before the consideration of renewed strategy was considered
- Team switches occurred to even things up but made surprisingly little difference until numbers dwindled to 3 a side at the very end
- Blues managed to catch-up to only a 2 goal moving-difference after half an hour of 3 a side but despite near-career-best efforts from Nick, Chris and myself, we couldn’t pull back the 8 goal gap we started with
- Much glory was had with a very near Monday-night-best turnaround but the stone wall that is Thomas and the loose-boot of Zoltan prevailed to a less than satisfying result for what was one of the most physically exhausting games on record
- Excellent weather for football, light sprinkle for mid-game cooldown and a light show to write home about
